My name is Kristin Becker. I grew up at 3rd and Lincoln in old town Longmont. When I was 18 I left Colorado to live in New York City and attend NYU business school. It didn’t take, and I ended up back in Boulder County four months later. Since that time I’ve taken my short leaves of absence, including a five month long cycling tour from Anchorage, AK to Tijuana, MX, but I’ve rarely found a town that I like as much as this one. I like the people here. They like conversation, they dislike pretension. This town offers a life of simplicity and rewards those who live honestly. It also has great weather and an awesome view. Currently I serve the people of Longmont delicious food at Sugarbeet restaurant in the evenings, and volunteer, watch Ally McBeal on Netflix, or mountain bike during the day.
This blog is here to document the strange and wonderful goings-on of Longmont, CO. I beg, beg, beg you to leave comments and send me submissions that you would like to see in the blog. I’m looking for photo essays (perhaps old abandoned factory-type buildings highlighted against our wonderful skies, or Longmont’s Best Gardens), Best of TC-Line submissions, documentation of your Goose Tour of Longmont, an interview with one of your favorite Longmont folks, or an expose on the Turkey Factory!
